MASTER INSTRUCTOR COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Tactical Athlete Program Master Instructor course offered by C.T.C. provides officers with a rigorous and immersive 5-day, 40-hour in-person training experience. During this course, participants have the opportunity to assist C.T.C.’s highly skilled staff in instructing officers attending our scheduled T.A.P. Instructors course. By actively engaging in this training environment, officers can enhance their teaching skills, develop more effective instructional techniques, and acquire the knowledge needed to establish an internal T.A.P. training program within their own department.
The curriculum of this program is thoughtfully designed to empower master instructors to implement an internal ranking system for officers, based on their adherence to curriculum requirements and proficiency in demonstrating techniques. This ranking system serves as a valuable tool for officer development, it builds a culture of camaraderie, addressing the issue of high officer turnover rates. By recognizing and promoting officers’ progress and skill development through rankings, the program fosters a sense of personal investment and growth, eliminating the need for experienced personnel to revisit entry-level training sessions.
The Tactical Athlete Program Master Instructor Course certificate is valid for two years and serves as a recertification course for T.A.P. Instructors. It is strongly recommended that T.A.P. Instructors schedule their training to obtain their Master Instructor Certification. Prior to enrolling in the master instructor course, T.A.P. Instructors must have successfully completed both the “Tactical Athlete Program Certification Course” and the 5-day, 40-hour “Tactical Athlete Program Instructor Course.” This includes the thorough completion of all online website resources, videos, lesson plan templates, and resource materials at the time of registration.
Overall, the Tactical Athlete Master Instructor Course offers a comprehensive, flexible, and accountable approach to law enforcement training. It aims to enhance T.A.P. instructor skills, minimize excessive force incidents within agencies, promote officer wellness, and cultivate a safe positive training culture.
